Practice Focus

Igor Taranov has extensive experience in commercial litigation and arbitration in Kazakhstan and Russia. He handled many cases as an in-house attorney while working for big Russian companies in retail, construction, and oil and gas sectors. He spent some time in an international law firm with offices in CIS and Europe and since 2014 he started practicing commercial litigation and domestic and international arbitration as independent legal practioner.

Presentatives Legal Matters

Represented one of the Russia's largest news print company in ad hoc arbitration proceeding under UNCITRAL Rules held in Cyprus in case involving USD 10 millions;

Represented a Russian company from Siberia in two disputes in the International Commercial Arbitration Court in under its Rules against a Turkish manufacture of equipment;

Represented a Russian oil trading company in a bankruptcy proceeding in one of regional commercial arbitration courts;

Represented a UAE company in debt recovery case against a Russian company in Moscow State Commercial Court;

Represented a middle-sized Russian oil company in a case in against a local drilling company in one of regional commercial arbitration courts.
